Following the terrible tragedy last week at Grenfell Tower the issue of fire safety is even more in our minds than ever.
We would like to take this opportunity to reassure residents that BCHG has a history of managing fire safety well. We have Fire Risk Assessments in place on all of our schemes which are reviewed annually, we have fire equipment and smoke alarms in properties where needed and have been testing evacuation procedures in all of our care homes and schemes over the past few months.
BCHG has no high rise blocks, however to give extra reassurance we are currently reviewing the Fire Risk Assessments on a number of other properties to see if there is anything more we can do. We will also monitor the learning coming out of any investigation into the tragedy to ensure we maintain best practice.
Finally please remember to always be aware of fire safety. Make sure that rubbish or other combustible material do not build up, that sockets are not overloaded and that fire escape routes and doors are not blocked. If you do see anything like this please be sure to report it to us straight away.
